“We are extremely happy with the finished project but most of all the journey along the way. Everyone at GMH was wonderful to work with! They were always on time and our communication was beyond great! No matter how big or small the challenge, GMH gave it their full attention. While they were there we decided to replace the shower stall in our master bedroom. Once again Greg came up with a fantastic solution to our space challenges and we now have a much larger shower stall and an oak barn door as well! Our project manager, Dane, was terrific to work with! I would recommend this company to anyone and would hire them again in a heart beat!”
"We hired GMH construction to remodel our master bathroom. The prior bathroom was very dated and we decided to go more with high-end products and design this time. The project included moving a wall, building heat-radiant marble floor and walls, installing curbless glass shower, floating cabinets, etc. and the end result is fabulous--we love our bathroom! Everything was executed on time and in a very professional manner, all subs were knowledgeable and equally professional. Greg was always available and his suggestions were highly valuable. Highly recommend!"
"When we decided to have our basement remodeled we met with several construction contractors. GMH came in around the middle of the pack for those we met with in terms of estimated cost. We chose GMH over the rest because the gentleman we met with, Greg Perkins, was by far the best listener and was also the most insightful. He offered ideas, but never dictated, and he seemed to sincerely care about our input and in his desire to ensure we were happy with the end result.
When we saw the schedule for completion we smiled and nodded thinking there was no way they would be finished in the time frame they outlined. We were pleasantly surprised when the project was actually completed on time. Our basement remodel included two new egress windows, a full bathroom (and no existing roughed in plumbing), an office, a bedroom, a finished closet for storage and a large recreation room.
The project from start to finish lasted just under 7 weeks. Everyone who worked on the project, was very professional. They treated our property with respect, didn't use foul language while working and kept timely hours that didn't conflict with our family schedule. We were also waiting for the additional budget requests for unforeseen items, but that never happened. The entire experience was very comfortable and each day we felt like we could see progress being made. "
"We hired GMH to oversee extensive home repairs and updates to a foreclosure we were purchasing. We had numerous items that needed to be addressed. Their estimates were very accurate and competitive. Their employees were respectful, hardworking, and honest. All work was done in a timely manner and on budget. From start to finish, we were happy that we chose GMH Construction!"
"The kitchen turned out great and I could just sit and admire it all day!!! It is a dream come true and I LOVE it! The people you have working with you [are]... kind and respectful. I felt comfortable with them in my house and I felt comfortable leaving. I trusted that they were going to do excellent work and they always did. We are very grateful."
"My house got remodeled. People were coming and our worker's company was GHM Construction. Our contractor was Greg. It was really loud! I love my new house!"
"We are thrilled with all the work. We'll be referring you to others and calling you in the future!"
"I was so impressed from start to finish on the whole remodel......As for the before, during, after follow up to the construction project...you cannot get a better company to improve your home. HIGHLY recommend"
“My kitchen re-do event went well & the finished product looks great. The young men did excellent work & I'm looking forward to the addition of an "island" in the near future.”
“I chose GMH for my whole-house remodel and could not be more pleased. Greg, Julie, Dane and the team were great to work with - friendly, knowledgeable and very responsive to my questions and requests. When I first met with Greg, he quickly understood my vision for a neglected 1950's ranch house. Instead of being skeptical, he offered creative ideas that took it even further toward my goals. From there, we worked together to create a plan that balanced dreams with cost. The end result was a complete makeover, inside and out, into a clean, contemporary home. GMH stayed in close communication over the entire 6-month project, which finished on time and very close to the initial budget. GMH really got behind my vision and made it happen, beautifully! Thanks guys!”
"I wish I could post before and after photos- the transformation created by GMH is awe-inspiring. They transformed our traditional (and outdated- think 1980's) colonial to a beautiful, open concept family friendly house that flows and stands up to even the largest family and friend gatherings. From the on-set of communication through today, GMH has provided honest, transparent and kind project delivery and top notch workmanship. Their design was cutting edge and took into account every demand and request we had. They performed what was often told to us as, "impossible" by the many other bids we received: removing walls and staircases, creating new supports, opening spaces that created an amazing new home feel, and putting together a stunning final project of our entire first floor.
The entire staff and family of GMH became like part of our own family and our children still ask for them, missing their friendly and helpful faces. From the custom barn door and trusses, to the beautiful carpentry work throughout, we love each detail, big and small- and I am not easy to please ;) !
For every reason you can imagine (staying within budget, unique design, quality craftsmanship, treating their subs like family, friendly, trustworthy and top notch customer service and open partnerships) to get the job better than perfect I recommend GMH for ALL your home renovation and building needs without reservation.
We have already referred GMH to countless folks, who are just as happy with the total product, and will continue to do so. GMH is truly a diamond in the field of home building projects.
Our home is remarkable, and we have GMH to thank for the timeless memories we have and will continue to create in our beautiful, functional and stunning new first floor. Words cannot express our gratitude.
"We are so enjoying the new looks to the kitchen and bathroom and thoroughly enjoyed having you and your crew do the work. The new garden shed is exactly what I pictured, and I truly appreciate your attention to making things happen that way. I am so looking forward to spring, when it starts to take on its intended character and finishing touches."
"Great job guys! See you again!"
"Greg and his workers did an excellent job in creating my basement workshop. They volunteered great ideas that I hadn't thought of which made the project turn out even better than I hoped. They were great guys to have around and easy to work with from start to finish. Thank you."
"Thanks, it's beautiful! If you want to use photos or show it to people, just call."
"The workers did an excellent job! Thank you!"
"Thank you so very much - You guys did a fabulous job and I appreciate the extras as well."
We didn't feel the six lines on the Customer Service Survey would be able to do justice in providing you feedback on our recent project.
As you know, we remodeled all three floors of our house at the same time. Needless to say, our lives were chaotic from demolition on. You, your employees, and your subcontractors were courteous, patient and kind. One of your employees (Jay) even took the time to sit and talk with my 9 year old son, who doesn't do well with change and was in tears because he had "no place to go." His caring attitude and understanding gave my son a little bit of hope and helped him have a better attitude about the stress we were all feeling. We never felt uncomfortable asking a question and we also appreciated the honest answers that we received. Your crew took the time to clean up every night, which was most appreciated in that we only had one room to live in. They arrived on time, used appropriate language and acted in a manner appropriate around children. I never felt that my kids were unsafe - they made sure that their tools, etc were out of harms way and acted appropriately. They spoke to my children as though they were paying customers too, not just nuisances with a ton of questions.
The quality of your work was excellent. You sometimes pointed out imperfections that I myself didn't even see and fixed them. You listened to our concerns and handled them. I remember at several points of our Design/Pre-Construction phase, you told us that we would hate you at some point in our project. This was probably the only time in our project that you were wrong! While remodeling itself is a very stressful experience, we always felt that you were our advocate and never felt that we were alone.
Another thing that stands out is your attention to detail. You insisted on excellence and would accept no less than that level of work. For example, basements are poured on a slight grade, to assist in drainage. As silly as this sounds, the fact that you leveled our fish tank table to give the tank the appearance of being "straight" was something that most contractors wouldn't even think of, much less do without being asked. Sometimes, for a customer, it's the little things that add up to big impressions.
Your company was flexible and gave us options. When you contacted us while on vacation and discussed the option of tearing out the entire kitchen instead of paying practically the same price to build 3 custom cabinets to match our existing, we were floored. Not only did you take it upon yourself to look out for our best interest, your crew bought boxes and packed up my kitchen while we were on vacation. Most contractors would have realized the "bother" that this option would cause and not bother asking the question. Those that would have bothered certainly wouldn't have offered to pack up the kitchen to avoid any delays, since we were out of town. You also supported us on our last minute decision to change our shower type from an acrylic corner unit to a tiled shower. While you had to do some damage control with a frustrated plumber, you understood the big picture, agreed that the decision was a good one and handled it.
We never felt uncomfortable with you in our home. We never felt that safety or security were an issue. You cannot put a price tag on that. We will (and already have) recommend you to anyone. I would tell a perspective customer that while you probably will get lower bids (and some higher too), you cannot put a price tag on quality work, peace of mind and honest service. What looks like may cost you less, can easliy cost you more due to unquoted "add-ons" or delays. Sometimes, you just have to pay a little more upfront to ensure quality and avoid paying more later.
When someone enters our home, they immediately want to know who did the work, how "expensive" it was and how it could have all possibly gotten done in just 2 months. We need to respond that our contractor was fantastic, that you get what you pay for and that they got the work done because they WORKED and didn't make excuses. We have heard horror stories, both before we made our decision to remodel and during the whole process. Your company is a great example that the "one in a million" contractors do exist. We couldn't be happier with the results of our remodel and we are grateful every day that we chose GMH Contruction to do the work.
Thank you again to all of you - Jay, Jeff, Dave, Mike, your vendors and especially you. Please let us know if there's anything we can ever do to help you with any other references."
