We love our new kitchen!
From the moment, we sat down with Greg, we trusted him and knew that he was our contractor.
He was meticulous in taking measurements and making sure he understood what we were looking for. This was important because we wanted a wall removed, storage created, and relevant function in our kitchen. The second time we met with Greg, he had a machine-prepared sketch of our home so we could conceptualize the placement of cabinets, appliances, and lighting.
As it turned out, he, his team, and his suppliers exceeded our expectations while keeping costs close to our budget.
When the cabinet costs seemed to take off to the stratosphere, he found a solution that allowed us to have the wood we chose and still have the quality we wanted. Greg did not just turn us over to a cabinet supplier, he was there in the meeting when we hit a bump in the road.
The sub-contractors previewed the work and showed up on time to keep the process moving. They were professional as well as friendly with our very inquisitive dog.
Every day, the crew cleaned up so we could continue to live in the house during major construction. GMH also uses a unique air filtering device. It is a super-giant HEPA filter that keeps the dust down in the rest of the house.
The craftsmanship was better than we could have ever hoped. Their carpenters are true woodworkers and pay meticulous attention to the tightness of joints and finished color in all light situations. The detailed method they used was far beyond our expectations.
I don’t think we had many changes to the original plan, but GMH was quick to respond and discuss cost impacts.
There were recommendations by GMH that we had never considered and made our new kitchen complete and enjoyable. The richness added by the addition of furniture ends to our cabinets is more than we could have ever hoped for.
The project was completed in less than their anticipated timeline which was a big bonus for us.
I should mention that being a NARI contractor, they were sure to have all the necessary permits from the city and the inspectors were scheduled so as not to cause a delay in the project.
We were so impressed by every facet of GMH, that we had them do our bathroom while we went on vacation. Once again, they exceeded our expectations and the bathroom is stunning.
We cannot thank Greg and his team enough. We have lived in this house for 28 years and now parts of it are not only brand new but luxuriously too.

They transformed our traditional (and outdated- think 1980’s) colonial to a beautiful, open concept family friendly house that flows and stands up to even the largest family and friend gatherings. From start to finish, GMH was on schedule (finished one week early) and on-time per communicated daily arrival time, cleaned up each day, communicated what they did that day and what was expected the next day. They communicated openly about anything extra-ordinary they encountered. I inspected their work each evening and if ever I found an anomaly not to my liking, they addressed it that next morning. “We worked with GMH recently on a first floor remodel, which included a kitchen, bathroom, wet bar and addition of a first floor laundry room. They worked with us each step of the way–from choosing our materials, to designing our space and completing the project on time and on budget. Our cabinets were delayed which could have caused a major delay in project completion but Julie worked seamlessly behind the scenes to change our schedule so that the project would still finish on time. We also decided to add in mudroom lockers, but because of our space, I wanted something that had doors and drawers that could close so nobody sees our stuff while eating and they came up with an amazing design that worked really well! Dane and Greg worked really closely with us and always double checked everyone’s work to ensure the quality. Every subcontract company GMH works with is on time, reliable and does quality work. We couldn’t be happier with our new space!”
“I just completed my second remodel (kitchen, foyer and family room) with GMH. Just like the first time, they were professional, courteous and timely. They are always available to answer questions. If there is an issue, they are quick to respond with a solution. They keep the workspace clean and they neaten up tools and equipment each night. And they stay on schedule. I really like the app they use. It’s a great way to see the schedule, finances, ask a question, sign documents and review the contract. They also back their work. If there’s an issue once the project is complete, they are very responsive. I am very pleased with both remodels and I receive quite a few compliments about them. I highly recommend this company!”
“We are extremely happy with the finished project but most of all the journey along the way. Everyone at GMH was wonderful to work with! They were always on time and our communication was beyond great! No matter how big or small the challenge, GMH gave it their full attention. While they were there we decided to replace the shower stall in our master bedroom. Once again Greg came up with a fantastic solution to our space challenges and we now have a much larger shower stall and an oak barn door as well! “We wanted to do a whole bathroom remodel and started at the NARI show last winter setting up appointments with a number of contractors. Some never bothered to follow up, one was very expensive, two others did not seem to listen to what we wanted and preferred to do it their way. “We chose GMH to remodel two bathrooms and our kitchen after an extensive search of well-known contractors in Milwaukee/Northshore area. After meeting and discussing our needs and ideas, GMH proposed a plan to completely re-do all three projects down to the studs of our 1948 Tudor.

“When we decided to have our basement remodeled we met with several construction contractors. GMH came in around the middle of the pack for those we met with in terms of estimated cost. We chose GMH over the rest because the gentleman we met with, Greg Perkins, was by far the best listener and was also the most insightful. He offered ideas, but never dictated, and he seemed to sincerely care about our input and in his desire to ensure we were happy with the end result.
When we saw the schedule for completion we smiled and nodded thinking there was no way they would be finished in the time frame they outlined. We were pleasantly surprised when the project was actually completed on time. Our basement remodel included two new egress windows, a full bathroom (and no existing roughed in plumbing), an office, a bedroom, a finished closet for storage and a large recreation room.
The project from start to finish lasted just under 7 weeks. Everyone who worked on the project, was very professional. They treated our property with respect, didn’t use foul language while working and kept timely hours that didn’t conflict with our family schedule. We were also waiting for the additional budget requests for unforeseen items, but that never happened. The entire experience was very comfortable and each day we felt like we could see progress being made. ”

Just finished our Master Bedroom and once again an excellent job. This is Project #2 with GMH Construction (Master Bath a couple of years ago). Went back to them for this project and very happy with results. Hard not to appreciate the work ethic of the entire team!
